TODAY
Good morning. You donβt need a long plan to catch a good sunset on St. George. One beach access, a short walk, and enough time before it gets dark is enough.
Inside this issue: One easy sunset on St. George Island.

π One easy sunset on St. George Island

The east end of St. George Island State Park is the simplest place to watch the sun go down without a full beach day. The sand is wide, the parking is close to the access points, and there is almost nothing else to pull your attention.
Drive to the park (1900 E. Gulf Beach Drive). Entry is $6 per vehicle. Park at one of the first beach access points you reach. Walk a short distance toward the water. The beach faces west enough that the light drops across the Gulf, and the lack of buildings keeps the horizon clear.
Go about 45β60 minutes before sunset. The park closes at sunset, so you need enough time to walk back to the car without rushing. There is no food inside the gate. Bring water.
One practical note: the campground is still closed for renovations, so this is day use only. Pets are not allowed on the beach.
